April 4, the second day of the holiday, saw the peak of the number of park visitors, being 939,000.The largest increase came from those visiting country parks. Although parks in Shanghai’s suburban area served only one tenth of the total number of visitors, they saw an 85.4% year-on-year increase. Parks in the downtown area have embraced 2.1 million people, increasing 21.4% compared with last year.To enrich the garden experience, parks planned a series of themed activities. For example, Shanghai Botanical Garden attracted streams of visitors with stimulating events like the 2021 Shanghai International Flower Show, a popular science culture and art exhibition themed on the verbena hybrida and peony as well as a bonsai exhibition showcasing works by young artists from the Yangtze River Delta Region.
