Both victims had attended the burial of an Ebola patient in Congo, but returned to Uganda,” the official told AFP on condition of anonymity.Arrangements are being made to bury the woman in Kasese, a district in western Uganda close to the DRC border, the official added.The health ministry announced Wednesday that Uganda had recorded three cases of Ebola infection in the first known cross-border spread since an outbreak began in eastern DRC in August.All three were from a single family that traveled to DRC to care for a relative, who also died of Ebola.The 5-year-old later died and his 3-year-old brother and 50-year-old grandmother tested positive for the virus upon returning to Uganda.The family was quarantined in a hospital in Bwera, in Kasese district. Eight others who had been in contact with them were also being monitored in an isolation ward.East Africa has been on high alert since the outbreak was declared in the eastern DRC provinces of North Kivu and Ituri. More than 2,000 cases have been recorded in DRC – around two-thirds of them fatal. load_file(“/includes-n/article_share.html”);RELATED ARTICLES Health worker mistrust worsening DR Congo Ebola outbreak: studyHearsay and mistrust in health workers may have thwarted attempts to contain Ebola during the current outbreak of … China helps Africa in fight against Ebola outbreak: Africa CDC chiefChina has significantly contributed to Africas ongoing combat against Ebola outbreak as well as to the development of … American doctor to be monitored in US after possible exposure to Ebola in CongoAn American citizen will be transported privately to Nebraska Medical Center for monitoring after possible exposure to the …load_file(“/includes-n/article_most_view.html”);var wxs = (function() {return navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase().indexOf(micromessenger) !== -1})();if (!wxs) {/* * * CONFIGURATION VARIABLES: EDIT BEFORE PASTING INTO YOUR WEBPAGE * * */var disqus_shortname = globaltimes; // required: replace example with your forum shortnamevar disqus_identifier = 1154187;/* * * DONT EDIT BELOW THIS LINE * * */(function () {var dsq = document.createElement(script); dsq.type = text/javascript; dsq.async = true;dsq.src = https:// + disqus_shortname + .disqus.com/embed.js;(document.getElementsByTagName(head)[0] || document.getElementsByTagName(body)[0]).appendChild(dsq);})();}Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus.blog comments powered by Disquswindow._taboola = window._taboola || [];_taboola.push({mode: thumbnails-a,container: taboola-below-article,placement: below article,target_type: mix});load_file(“/includes-n/footer.html”);load_file(“/includes-n/addthis.html”);
